Wide Variety of Shapes and Designs — pouches can be produced with flat bottoms, side seals, gussets, Euro holes, or zip-lock closures, allowing the packaging to be tailored to the specific requirements of the product and the customer's needs.

Functionality — the pouches help preserve product quality by protecting against moisture, oxygen, foreign odors, and mechanical damage. For products with high fat or moisture content, multi-layer high-barrier films are used to ensure optimal protection.

Retort pouches are designed for autoclave sterilization at temperatures up to 130 °C. Combined with a properly selected recipe and sterilization regime, they provide a shelf life of up to 24 months at room temperature until opening — and for certain products, without preservatives. Compared with glass and tin, a retort pouch is lighter (logistics savings), unbreakable and more convenient for the consumer.

Formats and options: stand-up bottom doypack and flat bag without bottom; optional zip-lock, tear notch, laser scoring and folding bottom.
