Surface (barrier) films for trays

Barrier films for sealing trays are used for portioned products such as meat slices, cheese slices, cheese, fish and seafood, sausages, nuts and dried fruit, herbs, etc.

Such a film reliably protects the tray in both vacuum and gas modified environments and provides useful benefits such as anti-fogging, easy opening (peel effect) and resealability.

Barrier films are divided into 3 categories depending on the level of protection:

  • Barrier – PET / PE composite
  • Medium barrier – PP / PA / PE composite
  • High barrier – PP / PA / EVOH / PA / PE composite

Barrier films maintain product purity and freshness, protecting against oxygen, water vapor and odors.

Medium-barrier films are used for packaging in a modified gas environment or vacuum, depending on the characteristics of the product.

High-barrier films have an extra strong barrier to moisture and gas permeability and are particularly flexible due to the use of multilayer composites.

  • Strong barrier properties to oxygen and water vapor
  • Resistance to fats
  • Easy opening (peel-effect)
  • Repeated closing (reclose)
  • Anti-fogging
  • PET/PE
  • PP/PA/PE
  • PET/PE/PA/EVOH/PA/PE
  • PET/PE/PA/EVOH/PA/PE
  • PA/EVOH/PA/PE
  • PET/PE/EVOH/PE
